Are you interested in seeing how art can bring attention to environmental challenges? Do you want to check out an interactive sculpture that “breathes” with real-time air quality?

Join us for the first public exhibition of "When Air Takes Shape," an innovative art installation that brings global air quality data to life. Presented by the Activism Through Technology and Art (ATTA) Society, this project aims to raise awareness about the impact of air pollution on our health and environment.

About the Installation: "When Air Takes Shape" is a kinetic origami sculpture that changes shape based on real-time air quality data. As you breathe with the installation, you’ll experience different air qualities from around the world, visualized through the dynamic motions of the structure.

Through this interactive experience, we aim to evoke empathy for those suffering from the worst consequences of air pollution, ultimately creating lasting behavioural change.

This installation is built by a multidisciplinary community of artists with technology, science, and design backgrounds.

What to Expect:

  • Interactive Experience: Engage with the installation and see how air quality data is transformed into art.
  • Educational Insights: Learn about the global air quality crisis and how it affects communities differently through accompanying informational displays.
  • Community Connection: Meet the passionate artists behind the project and discover how artistic activism can drive social change.

About ATTA: The Activism Through Technology and Art Society is a multidisciplinary group of artists dedicated to creating projects that amplify voices, share stories, and raise awareness about environmental and social issues. Learn about ATTA here: attasociety.org

Mark your calendars for July 13, and join us at Jim Deva Plaza for an inspiring experience!
